FIRE. AIM. READY.

November 2, 2016

Sadly, most of us have probably worked in an organization that could easily have had this as the title of their marketing campaign. This is of course assuming they even knew what a marketing campaign was!

Across the board - from accountants and attorneys to engineers and architects - I've had the fortunate opportunity and pleasure of working with hundreds of talented professionals. Although studious accountants, articulate attorneys and brilliant architects and engineers; the majority - even at the senior level - seemed to lack the basic skills of selling themselves and their firm.

Working in the corporate world for over 20 years now, it never ceases to amaze me how many professional business leaders - as gifted as they are at their profession - have no idea who they are or where they want to go. No goals, no business plan, no marketing plan, no succession plan; let alone any training on sales, marketing or business development.

They have been doing the same thing the same way for decades. But why? The simple answer is they went to school for their trade - to be accountants, architects and engineers, sans any schooling on Marketing or Business 101 courses.

Do not fear, this is where consultants who are educated and certified in marketing professional services can help you change your "Fire, Aim, Ready" approach into a strategic and successful "Ready, Aim, Fire" campaign.
